Yesterday was the start of Spring and today is National Poetry Day. There’s only one way I can think to celebrate.
When winter’s armor is removed
And the sky sheds tears of excitement to nourish our land
When nature’s flora begin to revive
And seed sprouts bloom through the ground
When the sun lingers for longer
And the flutter of warmth fills your home
When the wind bellows through the crevices of town
And the bird’s melodies permeate the mornings
When trees bestow us with their mighty presence
And the sweet scent of flowers tickles your nose
When pollen blankets our valuables
And the pursuit of pastel eggs filled with decadence await
That’s when you know spring has arrived
Now peel your eyes away from your screen and enjoy today’s beautiful weather.
