Did you miss any of my blog posts this month? Don’t worry; I’m always here to keep you caught up!
There were some significant changes made to the blog this month. In solidarity with the writer's and actor's strikes, I didn't write about movies or TV shows. Admittedly, finding topics I wanted to write about proved more difficult than anticipated, but it also created an interesting new avenue for creativity.
An even more significant change occurred to the publishing schedule. I felt overwhelmed and creatively drained by my previous schedule, so I decreased the number of articles published monthly. I could write more freely and creatively, reigniting the passion I once had for this craft.
I wrote a poem begging the universe to tell me the key to success. Poetically describing my desperation for a career in writing was cathartic. George and I tried making a focaccia bread recipe that we're still unsure we did correctly. It made a couple of delicious sandwiches, though.
I reviewed Qveen Herby's new EP and detailed her new definition of a Housewife. It made me feel empowered in my ambition. In celebration of the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, I reviewed Yesika Salgado's poetry collection, Hermosa. It made me realize how internalized trauma can turn into beautiful art.
Even with my reduced release schedule, I will always keep one of my favorite parts of the blog, the Featured Artist Interview. This month, I had the pleasure of interviewing AKASUGE, an audio engineer and musician working hard, training himself and others to make music he's proud of.
