January 2023 Rewind

Did you miss any of my blog posts this month? Don't worry; I'm always here to keep you caught up!

We are starting the year off strong here at Discussions with Damaris. So far, 2023 has been all about returning to what I love. I reviewed movies like Matilda The Musical and Strange World. As part of my research for my untitled manuscript, I read Sorry I Haven't Texted You Back by Alicia Cook and completely loved it. Like the rest of the world, I couldn't stop thinking about Miley Cyrus's new single, Flowers, and season 2 of Netflix phenomenon Ginny & Georgia.

I also celebrated some obscure holidays, Three Kings Day and National Chocolate Cake Day. I dug deep into the history behind Three Kings Day and celebrated National Chocolate Cake Day the best way I know how; by failing to bake the perfect chocolate cake and punishing myself by eating the entire thing in less than a week.

My featured artist this month was Antonio Zarco, a talented acapella singer. He was a lead singer of The RockNRoll Chorus for years, then transitioned to a vocal coach position for the group. Then he created his own acapella group, Garden State Sound, and is currently working on multiple upcoming projects.

"Failing" to Make Chocolate Cake
